MUNCIE, Ind. – Two Meridian Health Services programs have been named winners of Decision Health’s nationally recognized Platinum Awards.

MeridianMD, Meridian’s primary medical care division, won the “Outstanding Performance in Community Care Setting – Integrated Care Networks” category, while Meridian’s School programs won first in the “Outstanding Achievement in Care Coordination Specialty Programs – Behavioral Health” category, according to a release.

“We are very proud that these two Meridian programs are earning national attention,” Meridian President and CEO Hank Milius said in the release. “We accept these awards with gratitude and honor knowing the impact these programs are making on our community.”

The Decision Health awards recognize organizations that improve health care and positively impact the lives of those they serve. Finalists are based upon innovations, leadership, and initiative of finding new and better ways to bring quality health care to their patients and populations. Decision Health’s “best of the best” are selected as finalists and one individual winner of each category is awarded the national winner of the 2017 Platinum Awards.

Meridian was nominated among other national and statewide health care organizations including Centene, Aetna, Kindred Healthcare, Amerigroup, Anthem and IU Health.

MeridianMD focuses on total well-being by combining care for the body and mind through integrating physical, mental and social health. MeridianMD now has seven locations including those in Muncie, New Castle, Richmond, Rushville and Jay County.

School programs partner with more than 270 schools throughout Indiana, helping children and school personnel on a daily basis through on-site services and consistent skill-building programs.
