Meridian Senior Health

The goal of Meridian Senior Health is to prepare seniors with acute severe psychiatric illness to return and thrive in their normal living environment. To accomplish this goal, the program involves family care givers, physicians and other health professionals.

Meridian Senior Health offers ways to identify and treat problems. In addition, caregivers can find new skills and support.

Behavioral Hospital

Seniors who have acute psychiatric issues can be admitted to Meridian Senior Health Behavioral Hospital for inpatient medical and behavioral care. The 16-bed unit is located on the third floor at IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital in Muncie. A typical hospital stay is 1-2 weeks.

Outpatient Assessment Center

Meridian Senior Health Outpatient Assessment Center provides an integrated medical assessment when patients are having both medical and behavioral issues, but they don’t need to stay overnight. The Outpatient Assessment Center puts patients in an outpatient clinical setting rather than an emergency room at first point of care. Bringing together psychiatry, internal medicine, neurology and behavioral clinicians all into one place allows for an understanding of the whole patient and provides a plan that will address all of the patient’s needs.
