Meghana Bhat, MD

I am working out of the Muncie office at Meridian, doing primarily telepsych appointments. As a board-certified adult psychiatrist, I work with the adult and geriatric population. I have been working with Meridian Health Services since 2012 when I completed my residency. Before and during my residency training, I have had an opportunity to work at the State Hospital, VA Hospital and Eskenazi’s Midtown Community Mental Health Center. I completed my psychiatry residency at the Indiana University School of Medicine. Community psychiatry and whole-person health has been my primary interest, and that made Meridian the right place to work at. The team-based approach that Meridian offers with therapists, social workers and nurses helps me to provide comprehensive mental health care to the local population. Fascination towards the complexities of the human mind and behavior got me interested in psychiatry. To add to that, the interconnection of the mind and body and their influence on each other is an area of great interest and gives me an opportunity to provide holistic care to the individuals we work with. After a visit I hope the patients feel they have received compassionate and holistic care that is also supported by evidence-based practices.
