Meridian to open new evening and weekend COVID-19 vaccine clinic

From The Star Press

MUNCIE, Ind. — For those struggling to find time between work and other obligations to receive a COVID-19 vaccine; you’re in luck. Meridian Health Services will begin to offer evening and weekend appointments.

The healthcare system recently opened its second vaccination site at its Pediatric Complex, 205 N. Tillotson Ave. Generally, the vaccination appointments run 3-7:30 p.m. on weeknights and 11 a.m.-5:20 p.m. on weekends.

Appointments are currently available as soon as next-day. The location only offers the Moderna vaccine, which is only approved for those 18 and older.

This vaccine clinic requires appointments to be made at ourshot.in.gov. Patients should wear a mask and take their photo ID and health insurance card.

How to make an appointment

To make an appointment at Meridian’s Pediatric Complex clinic, visit ourshot.in.gov and click, “Find a vaccination site,” at the top of the page.

Under the “All vaccine sites,” tab, choose Delaware County. The evening and weekend clinic will be listed as, “Meridian Health Serv Peds VAX.” Click the arrow to register and choose your eligibility group on the next page.

From there, the page will ask patients if it is their first or second dose, and to enter a zip code. On the next page, scroll down to option number 4, “Meridian Health Serv Peds VAX.”

If assistance is needed, patients can call 211. The call center is open 8 a.m.-8 p.m. daily, including weekends. Vaccine appointments cannot be made by calling Meridian.
