Meridian Health Services will host a Back-to-School Fit Fair from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. July 28 at Southside Middle School in Muncie, offering health screenings, school registration assistance, low-cost immunizations and school supply giveaways. According to a community announcement, the event will take place alongside Muncie Community Schools’ registration day at the school, 1601 E. 26th St.
The fair is open to community members of all ages and will feature free health screenings provided by Meridian Health Services. Available screenings include ADHD assessments, blood pressure checks, dental screenings, ear checks, flexibility evaluations and mental health screenings.
Attendees also can receive food and drinks while supplies last, visit community vendors and enjoy a live remote broadcast and music from WLBC 104.1. Backpacks and school supplies will be distributed while supplies last.
Sports physicals and school registration
The Meridian School-Based Health Clinic at Southside Middle School will offer sports physicals for $10 during the event. No appointment is required, and students from any school may participate.
People attending the fair also can complete registration for the upcoming school year with Muncie Community Schools.
Immunizations available
Low-cost immunizations will be available through the Indiana Immunization Coalition. Organizers said all insurance plans will be accepted.
