Personal Bio
“I have spent my 30 year career as a Primary Care Pediatrician working with patients and their families primarily in the outpatient setting and have served as the school physician for four different school systems. I earned my Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with minors in chemistry and biology from the University of San Diego. I earned my Doctorate of Medicine from Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska.
I chose Pediatrics so I could be more like Peter Pan. Children are the life’s breath of society. They bring wonder and amazement to the world. When in the presence of a child, you are surrounded by joy, wonder and honesty. Children have a way of humbling you because they expect truth. A hug from a child can brighten your day in an instant and those are days I wanted to have, especially when the days can be intense.
I hope that when patients leave my office they feel heard and important. As well, I hope I have provided the tools for them to improve their own health, even if it takes a bit of time. I hope their parents or caregivers feel respected, understood, and that their efforts do not go unnoticed. I try hard to bring a sense of collaboration to the exam room, that we are in the trench together and although I give the recommendations or advice, that they have an opinion that matters and together we partner in the overall care of their child.”
